Modeling and Texture Artist

The ideal candidate for this position has at least 5 years of experience as an Asset Artist. You should be adept at self managing and comfortable in leading and guiding other artists as well as advising the CG Supervisor on best practices. Able to anticipate and find solutions to problems within the production. We are seeking an Asset Artist who is passionate about creating all types of CG for both pre-rendered and real time projects

  • Understand and execute the entire asset/environments creation process
  • Create high quality, accurate models and UVs based on initial concepts and reference
  • Investigating new techniques and best practices, then documenting them, implementing them and training the team
  • Take ownership of the content and process through to completion
  • Create textures, colors, and organic surface qualities needed in the completion of CG creatures and hard-surface models used in production.

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience as an Asset Artist (Model/Texture/Surface) in a VFX/Game Production environment
  • Extensive asset creation and technical knowledge
  • A mastery in creating both organic and hard surface models with efficient topology
  • Strong understanding of photogrammetry techniques
  • Highly proficient with industry standard software like Maya, 3D Studio Max, Substance Painter, Zbrush, Mudbox, Photoshop or Mari
  • Strong 2D and 3D artistic skills, with demonstrated excellence in compositional and visual storytelling skills

Desired skills

  • Strong desire to learn new techniques, and grow tools and pipeline
  • Creatures, digital doubles and facial blend shapes a plus
  • Knowledge of Unreal, Unity, or similar engine
  • Experience with repository systems such as Perforce
  • Expertise of LOD systems linked to engine
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Outcome driven and highly efficient
  • Ability to operate autonomously with a strong sense of personal responsibility for task completion
  • Actively seeks out, incorporates and provides feedback to and from peers
